Impairments in mitochondrial dynamics and morphology in skeletal muscle of breast cancer patients after a single paclitaxel administration. (PubMed, Exp Physiol)
Standard chemotherapy regimens for patients with breast cancer are based on epirubicin-cyclophosphamide (EC) and paclitaxel (TAX) administrations. In only 4 days, the first TAX administration induced severe skeletal muscle mitochondrial remodelling in patients with breast cancer, characterized by impaired mitochondrial dynamics that resulted in swollen and damaged organelles. These findings demonstrate that mitochondrial toxicity, classically documented at the end of treatment, occurs acutely and after only one chemotherapy administration.

Molecular Subtype-Associated Response to Cyclophosphamide-Epirubicin-Cisplatin Regimen in Recurrent or Metastatic Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma: A Retrospective Single-Center Study. (PubMed, Cancers (Basel))
CEP is active in R/M ACC, and prior TKI exposure did not appear to reduce efficacy. Higher response rates in ACC-I tumors and the apparent PIK3CA-related survival deficit are exploratory observations that need prospective testing before they can guide treatment.

An Extreme Clinical Diagnosis: Primary Metastatic Breast Cancer with Complete Bilateral Breast Contour Elimination and Ulceration. (PubMed, Diagnostics (Basel))
Six cycles of systemic chemotherapy with epirubicin and cyclophosphamide at three-week intervals were administered, followed by endocrine therapy with letrozole. Almost four years later, palbociclib became available and it was added to the patient's treatment...As this is a single-case clinical observation, any conclusions have limited generalizability. Given the rarity of primary metastatic ulcerative breast cancer there are no specific evidence-based treatment guidelines available and published studies have high heterogeneity and low level of evidence, necessitating multidisciplinary approach on a case-by-case basis.

Metastatic malignant phyllodes tumor of the breast with rapid progression and subsequent response to immunotherapy: a case report. (PubMed, Front Oncol)
Following eight cycles of ifosfamide plus epirubicin chemotherapy, tumor burden was reduced by more than 90%. Although first-line chemotherapy produced marked pulmonary tumor regression, subsequent anlotinib maintenance therapy did not prevent disease progression. In this PD-L1-positive tumor (CPS 10), sintilimab-based combination therapy yielded a marked clinical and radiographic response, supporting further investigation of ICI-based therapy in selected patients with metastatic MPT.

First-line ET plus palbociclib versus standard mono-chemotherapy in high-risk HR-positive/HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer and indication for chemotherapy: primary results from the randomized phase IV PADMA study. (PubMed, ESMO Open)
PADMA is the first randomized multicenter study to show that palbociclib + ET as first-line treatment compared with CT also leads to improvements in TTF and PFS in predominantly postmenopausal patients with HR-positive/HER2-negative mBC.

Association of Pegylated Liposomal Doxorubicin with Improved Overall Survival Compared with Epirubicin in Early-Stage Breast Cancer: A Population Based Study from Taiwan. (PubMed, Breast Cancer (Dove Med Press))
In this nationwide propensity score-matched cohort, adjuvant Lipo-Dox was associated with sustained overall survival benefits without increased cardiotoxic risk compared with epirubicin. Lipo-Dox may represent a favorable anthracycline alternative, particularly for patients with cardiovascular comorbidities or elevated cardiotoxicity risk.

Case Report: A case of primary renal synovial sarcoma. (PubMed, Front Surg)
Postoperatively, the patient received chemotherapy with epirubicin combined with ifosfamide. Follow-up showed no significant evidence of metastasis or recurrence. This report aims to provide clinical reference regarding the imaging findings and diagnosis of this rare disease, primary renal synovial sarcoma.

Epirubicin-Induced Upregulation of miR-143-3p and miR-145 Enhances Cytotoxicity in MCF-7, MDA-MB-231, and BT-474 Breast Cancer Cell Lines. (PubMed, Biochem Genet)
These findings suggest that Epirubicin enhances therapeutic efficacy by upregulating miR-143-3p and miR-145, potentially mitigating drug resistance. This highlights their potential as therapeutic targets for improving outcomes in resistant breast cancer subtypes.
